Kodak detected the first atomic bomb before anyone else figured it out. Then they made a deal not to tell anyone.

I also want to mention the low-background steel. As modern steel is processed using atmospheric air, any steel produced after the testing has a significant amount of contamination from radionuclides. However, steel made before Trinity doesn't and therefore has got an application in radiation-sensitive equipment such as Geiger counters. This type of steel is usually salvaged from ships that sunk before 1945. There is a Wikipedia article about this with some references at the bottom, and you can probably find more info on the internet.

My mother, who's from Senja in Norway, watched glowing radioactive clouds most likely coming from Novaya Zemlya in Russia when she was a kid. Among other things, that's where the Soviet Union tested the Tsar Bomba. She now has thyroid complications. Around the homestead, I've also found more four clove leaves than any other place in Norway. I've even found a seven-leaf Red Clover. I think I found around 30 four-clove leaves in total when I was a kid. I pressed these, but I've since lost that book.

    想想也很正常。感光胶片确实对辐射很敏感
